02 / How we work

The Forge
Standard.

Torqued twice, checked once more

Five rules, printed on the wall above the workbench. Every tech signs them. Every job follows them.

FP-STD-01

Nothing without a call

We ring before we spanner. You approve the work and the price — or it doesn't happen. No surprise invoices, ever.

Every job
FP-STD-02

Photos, not jargon

Every fault we find is photographed and sent to your phone in plain English, so you can see exactly what we see.

Same day
FP-STD-03

OEM or better

Genuine or OE-quality parts with a traceable supply chain. No grey-box mystery components, no cut corners.

No grey parts
FP-STD-04

Old parts in the boot

Ask, and everything we replace goes home with you. Proof of what was done — and of what actually needed doing.

Torque-wrenched, twice

Every wheel and critical fastener is torqued, checked by a second tech, and signed off on the job card by name.

03 / The workshop

Built by a
race mechanic.

Dan Mercer spent six seasons in a touring-car support paddock before opening Forge & Piston in 2009 — in a rented barn with one ramp and a kettle.

Seventeen years on, it's four bays, an alignment rig, a dyno cell and an MOT lane — run with the same paddock discipline. Everything torque-checked, everything documented, nothing out the door until it's right.

The kettle survived. So did the rule written above it: if it isn't good enough for our own cars, it isn't good enough for yours.
